The Tripleheader

Tuesday’s MLB games that mean more than just a box score…

Yanks take two steps forward and one step back: Yes, Yankee phenom Phil Hughes pitched 6.1 innings of hit-less ball. But he was pulled because of a leg injury. The Yankees still defeated Texas 10-1.

I blame Dan Johnson: Red Sox closer Jonathan Papelbon felt like Mo Rivera as the A’s rallied in the ninth to tie Boston, then win 5-4 in ten innings on a Dan Johnson RBI double. The Sox spoil Curt Schilling’s outing of seven innings and two earned.

Cardinals still foggy: The Cards slept walked through another game, losing in Milwaukee 12-2. It is their fourth consecutive loss, and second since the loss of pitcher Josh Hancock. (By the way, MLB.com is using Nazi language in their headlines? “Blitzkrieg lifts Brewers”? What the hell is that?)
