Italian Soccer Players Be Warned: Mr. T Isn’t Having Your Theatrics

April 26, 2007

With Champion’s League semi-final play upon us, the guys over at With Leather found the following web gem displaying why Mr. T will never become irrelevant. Can you think of anyone you’d rather see as a center referee in the AC Milan/Man U matchup?

He’s like Joey Crawford but black and less dumb.

Glory, Glory United!

April 25, 2007

Wayne Rooney’s pair of second half goals (59′, 90′), along with Cristiano Ronaldo’s early goal (5′), were enough for Manchester United to overcome two first half goals scored by AC Milan’s Kaka (22′, 37′). United take a 3-2 aggregate advantage to Milan next week for the second of two legs in the Champion’s League semifinal matchup.

With Europe being just across the pond, we had to select our favorite to win the cup this year. It was an obvious choice to root for Manchester United over AC Milan, because the Italians are sissy boys. Man U is the easy choice because they are tied to the Tampa Bay Area; they’re owned by Malcom Glazer, who owns the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. On top of that, Hanson and I are kicking ass and taking names with Man U in our third season of Winning Eleven.

Tomorrow we will see two of the other prizes of the Premiership, when Liverpool takes on Chelsea at Stamford Bridge on ESPN 2 at 2:45. We at The Sporting Orange will be rooting for the Mighty Reds, because we can’t understand how one can root against a team that celebrates goals like this.
