92,138 ‘Coon-Asses’ Approve

April 22, 2007

Apparently the Crimson Tide faithful have forgiven Nick Saban for his “coon-ass” comments that he made in January. The A-Day drew an over-capacity record crowd of 92,138 plus to Bryant-Denny Stadium on Saturday. The previous record attendance for a spring game in the SEC was 73,000 by the Tennessee Vols in 1986.

John Parker Wilson finished 18-of-36 for 244 yards and two touchdowns for the White en route to a 20-13 defeat of the Crimson. The Tide are coming off of a mediocre 6-7 season, recording no impressive wins. Will Nick Saban live up to his hype? Will Tyrone Prothro finally make his return to college football? Will John Parker Wilson become more famous than his younger brother? College football is only five months away.
