With Dice-K already beaning three batters in only four starts, I wonder if the lack of retaliation by batters is what has been making him comfortable in throwing far inside? Apparently, when a player gets beaned in Japan, fans witness a different spectacle than when this occurs in the MLB. About halfway through the video, it seems like the batter realizes that he can’t figure out who the pitcher is anymore because they all look alike. In Japan, there’s no Jason Varitek to do your dirty work.
