Dirk Needed A Lot More ‘Hoff

May 4, 2007

If you didn’t catch Game Six last night between the Warriors and Mavs you missed a grade-A choke-job by Dallas forward Dirk Nowitzki. Nowitzki went two-for-thirteen from the floor, scoring just eight points in 39 minutes of play. To give credit, Nowitzki was a perfect four-for-four from the charity stripe, but much of his success can be attributed to his pre-shot free throw routine.

“I try to sing sometimes to kind of take the pressure off,”said Nowitzki. “I like to sing David Hasselhoff’s ‘Looking For Freedom’. It was a big hit when I was a kid in Germany.

That’s right. Nowitzki gives The Hoff partial credit for helping him shoot 83% from the line this season. I guess it’s understandable given Nowitzki’s German roots and their absolute obsession with the Hoff and his handsomely rugged features. But can you blame them? The guy sings anthems about freedom and self-determination. It’s patriotism at its core, damn it.

The only other thing I know about the Germans is they take kindly to the drinky, which is why Hasselhoff probably didn’t watch the NBA playoffs last night. He was too busy being a goddamn German hero.

Don’t Hassle The Hoff, Ladies.

Classic Moments In Championship Mode

May 3, 2007
Today, we bring you an Instant Classic. Game Four: Dallas @ Golden State. I have to admit, I am a much bigger college basketball fan than NBA fan. And watching the scenes in Oakland for Games Three and Four was something that I would more likely see in Cameron Indoor or even The O’Connell Center. It’s a shame that the best series of the playoffs could be in the first round. Dallas will try to fight off completely insane Oakland fans and elimination tonight in Game Six.
